Apizz (pronounced “ah-beets”) is a tiny Italian restaurant with homemade pastas, pizzas, and more. The dining room is dark and cozy (hence the fuzzy photos below). Best dish of the night was the gambero — the shrimp were cooked perfectly and the sauce was divine (great for dipping bread)! I also really liked the short rib gnocchi and the prosciutto and mozzarella pizza.
Apizz: 217 Eldridge Street (between Rivington and Stanton)
Gambero (lemon-garlic shrimp, crispy chorizo, toasted breadcrumbs, herb-infused olive oil)
Apizz Rocket (wild arugula, prosciutto di parma, fresh mozzarella, parmigiano, plum tomatoes)
Gnocchi con Ragu di Carne (homemade gnocchi, honey-braised prime beef short ribs, tomato ragu)
