Driving around on a Sunday morning in search of a brunch spot, we stumbled upon The Fremont Diner in Sonoma. It was very unassuming, with a pick-up truck parked out front and a huge outdoor seating area with picnic benches in the back, where chickens roamed freely. The food was classic, hearty, and fresh. I thoroughly enjoyed my fried catfish and the grilled cheese with fresh mozzarella and summer squash. I also snagged a few bites of the chicken and waffles (outstanding!) and the pork sammie (moist and tender; loved the slaw).
