Anne Frank House and Van Gogh Museum (Amsterdam, The Netherlands)

My sister and I were so excited to visit the Anne Frank House and Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam. We’re normally not big on museums, but these two were so worth checking out. The Anne Frank House was a truly touching, somber, and bittersweet experience. It was surreal to actually walk through the house that Anne Frank and her family hid in — the way the tour was laid out was extraordinarily organized, tasteful, and really eye opening about the horrors and unspeakable acts that occurred in concentration camps. I feel extraordinarily lucky to have gotten the opportunity to visit this incredible museum. Next up, we hopped on the tram and headed over to Museumplein to see the Van Gogh Museum. It was a beautiful, open layout where we were able to leisurely and comfortably view his artwork at our own pace. I had no idea that Van Gogh was inspired by Japan and really liked his Japanese-inspired paintings! Not only did we have a great time, we also learned some stuff. 😉
