Vernick Food & Drink (Philadelphia, PA)

Our fourth and final destination is Vernick Food & Drink — a restaurant that my friends and I absolutely love. I’m thrilled to be back! This time, I’m determined to try a dish that I really wanted during my last visit but couldn’t because of an unfortunate uni shortage: the Sea Urchin with Warm Scrambled Eggs. It was warm, creamy, rich, and tasted like the ocean. Pure bliss. We shared a plethora of delicious dishes, including the grilled heart of romaine with aged cheddar (quite possibly the best salad ever), beef tartare with fresh horseradish (a favorite of mine from last time), striped jack with avocado (so fresh and light), bay scallops with blood orange vinaigrette (a vibrant and visually stunning dish), warm parmesan custard (another favorite), octopus with sweet & sour eggplant (incredibly tender), and black pepper pappardelle with boar ragu (rich and meaty with a slight kick). We finished up with two delightful scoops of stout and cinnamon ice cream — the perfect ending to an absolutely incredible meal. What a pleasure to see General Manager, Ryan Mulholland, tonight! He’s the best. Thank you, Chef Greg, Ryan, and the Vernick team for another sensational dinner!
