My fiance’s wonderful family threw us a beautiful party at Il Buco, where we had the pleasure of dining downstairs in the private wine cellar. It was intimate and cozy — and totally made us feel like we weren’t in New York City anymore! Pretty incredible. While sipping on aromatic Italian wines, we enjoyed a four course meal, which included a variety of family-style appetizers: burrata with roasted & shaved beets, pan-fried prawns (yes, the heads were still on!), and Tuscan black kale salad with garlic-anchovy-lemon vinaigrette. For the pasta course, I went with the Mezze Maniche (housemade pasta, heritage pork sausage, broccoli di cicco, and pecorino romano). It was excellent! I decided to go light for my third course with the grilled swordfish — one of the juiciest, most flavorful piece of swordfish that I have ever eaten! I am totally coming back to Il Buco just to order this dish. An enormous thank you to my future in-laws for hosting such a festive and joyful celebration, and to our amazing family and friends for joining us!
