After a long day (and night) of eating and drinking (and more drinking), we awoke the next morning to crappy weather conditions, which caused Burgers in Paradise to be relocated to Seven Mile Beach. Originally, the event was to be held at Rum Point after a snorkeling session at Stingray City. I was not at all bothered by the change in plans, as it was super convenient for me to roll right out of bed and onto the beach, where I was instantly enveloped in a sea of burgers. This event lived up to it’s name — literally. There were so many different varieties, including ones made out of peekytoe crab, rock shrimp, duck confit, beef, pork, black trumpet & grain, goat cheese, and even mini dessert burgers! My personal favorite was the smoked bacon pork burger with rum braised vidalia onion jam and apple kale slaw by Chef Tyson Grant of Niman Ranch. Simply amazing! We stuffed ourselves until we couldn’t eat another bite… then grabbed a few glasses of champagne and hit the beach just as the sun was starting to peek out from behind the clouds. I could get used to this. 😉
Point me in the direction of the burgers!
