My wonderful co-workers took me out for a celebration at Pala Pizza — what a fun night! Pala is a cozy little spot in the lower east side that makes original, gluten-free, and vegan pizzas. The range of options on the menu was perfect for our group, which has a diverse set of food preferences. I opted for the original Etna pizza with eggplant, cherry tomato sauce, mozzarella, ricotta salata, and basil. It was absolutely delicious! The dough was fluffy and light, the crust was crispy, and the roasted eggplant literally melted in my mouth. We also had a fantastic bottle of Dolcetto D’Alba that was recommended to us while we were waiting at the bar. Loved it! I can’t wait to head back to Pala to try more of their pizzas, including the gluten free and vegan varieties.
