Last year at the James Beard Foundation Silver Anniversary Gala, I bid on a four course Chef’s Tasting for two at Thalassa — and won! Almost a year later, I finally got a chance to cash in my prize. A friend and I enjoyed a wonderful four course tasting and wine pairings filled with fresh seafood and Greek favorites. The Horiatiki (a Greek peasant salad) was a great way to start off the meal. We loved the Octapodi (grilled octopus) — incredibly tender and flavorful. Definitely a favorite for both of us! I have had the Lavraki (a Greek white fish) a couple of times during past dinners and I absolutely love it. It’s so fresh and light and perfectly complemented with lemon, olive oil, and capers. Our meal finished with an assortment of tasty desserts and we were treated to complimentary bottles of their own olive oil and sea salt. How sweet! Thank you, Thalassa, for a beautiful Greek meal!
