Socarrat Paella Bar – Nolita

The wine flights at Malbec House definitely got me in the mood for paella. We walked over to Socarrat in Nolita for dinner, where we enjoyed tasty chorizo and pork belly appetizers — Yum! Then it was time for the main event: the signature Socarrat Paella with¬†chicken, beef, calamari, white fish, shrimp, cuttlefish, mussels, clams, and green beans. It was served in an enormous cast iron pan that was big enough to feed a small army. Luckily I was with friends who are serious about eating, and we pretty much housed the entire thing. It was the perfect amalgamation of meat, seafood, veggies, and rice. My favorite part was, of course, the socarrat (the crispy, crunchy rice at the bottom of the pan). AMAZING. One of the best paellas I’ve had in a really long time. If you’re having a paella craving, you need to check out Socarrat!
