I asked a fellow foodie on Instagram (Nashvillefoodie) for recommendations on places that I had to try while in Nashville. One of the top picks was Mitchell Delicatessen in East Nashville. I took one look at the menu and knew I had to try it. I wish I could have tried everything, but had to narrow my choices down to two (I have a lot of eating ahead of me). I went with the French Dip (roast beef, Swiss cheese, and au jus) and Grilled Veggie sandwich (seasonal squash, zucchini, lettuce, tomato, and mayo). Perfect balance of meat and vegetables. Both sandwiches were mouth-watering delicious! The roast beef was tender and the au jus was OUTSTANDING — I was thrilled that they provided such a generous amount. At one point I was drinking it straight out of the container, it was that good. The veggies were grilled beautifully and I loved the hoagies that both sammies were on. Thanks, nashvillefoodie, for recommending such a great spot!
