The Smith – Lincoln Center

There’s a new Smith in town. We arrived at the Lincoln Center location in time for a late lunch at 5:30pm — my first meal of the day — and I was ready to eat. A LOT.  The ordering process was a bit of a blur and, before I knew it, dishes were coming out of the kitchen faster than we could finish them. We feasted on some of our Smith favorites (hot potato chips with blue cheese fondue, crispy calamari, arugula and parmesan salad, mac & cheese, and ricotta gnocchi with truffle cream – YUM!) and sampled others for the first time (fried oyster slider, baked pretzels, artichoke flatbread, chicken pot pie, vegetable bibimbap, and tagliatelle with shrimp). Everything was wonderfully satisfying. We washed it all down with some ice cold beer (Allagash White for me) and homemade blood orange sodas (I am obsessed with anything blood orange and this was the best one I’ve ever had). Just  when we thought we couldn’t eat another bite, out came the desserts — “Apple Jack’d” (brioche bread pudding, vanilla ice cream, baked apple, rum caramel), “S’mores in a jar” (homemade graham crackers, toasted marshmallows, mighty fine chocolate pudding, sea salt), and “Quarter pounders” (three enormous homemade chocolate chip cookies). We ended the amazing meal with a refreshing Moscato toast. Cheers to the incredible staff at The Smith for being so good to us and, most of all, to Chef Glenn Harris for making sure that we had an unforgettably delicious evening!
