When you think “trendy restaurant”, your next thought probably isn’t “great food”. I wasn’t sure what to expect at Asellina, which is part of The One Group that also owns Bagatelle and STK. Let me tell you, the food is EXCELLENT. Our appetizers were delicious: veal meatballs, baked eggplant tortino, fried calamari, and prosciutto & black truffle pizza. I loved my pappardelle with wild boar ragu (the homemade pasta was yummy and the ragu was really tender), and I sampled bites of the herb garganelli with sausage and black ink fettuccine with seafood — both were fantastic. Overall, a fun night and I had a blast catching up with old college friends. Everything tastes better when shared with good company.
