Maison Harlem is a fun, lively restaurant that opened up a few months ago in Harlem. I adore anything French and was excited to eat there with a dear friend (who also happens to be French!) I’ve recently taken a liking to mussels, so I had to try the mussels mariniere — they were in a wonderful white wine and shallot sauce that I couldn’t get enough of (so good when you dip your bread in it!) The grilled salmon was cooked to a perfect medium rare, and the waiter substituted the standard ratatouille with luscious mashed potatoes at our request. To top it off, there was live jazz music playing in the background which added just the right touch. I’ll definitely be back to try the truffle mac and cheese, coq au vin, and more!
